Accomplishments during the Pandemic.

We didn’t let the pandemic slow us down – here is a list of our 2020 – 2021 accomplishments.

Provided 24 hours of service to Life Remodeled to clean up blight in a Detroit neighborhood

Assisted Plymouth Township to renovate the wooden play structure at Twp.  Park

Donated $1,000 to First Step Domestic Abuse shelter for Halloween activities

Member John Fisher facilitated a donation by Ford Motor Company to Plymouth United Way of 10,000 face masks and 1,000 face shields

Donated $450 to Hope Medical Clinic for space heaters for their clients

Donated $450 to Plymouth Goodfellows for Christmas gift boxes

Donated $750 to PCCS Alternative Education Department for at home learning supplies for their students

Folded, stuffed, stamped and addressed 1,200 pieces of mail for the Methodist Children’s Home Society fundraiser

Donated $200 to the Cookies 4 Troops Girl Scout program

Rang bells for two entire days at five locations in Plymouth for the Salvation Army

Conducted a massive diaper drive for the Salvation Army, over 10,000 diapers provided

Facilitated the distribution of knitted hats, scarves and gloves to three area nonprofits

Donated $500 to Plymouth Community Council on Aging to purchase laptop computers needed to provide online services to their clients

Donated $3,500 to First Step to trigger a match to provide a van and trailer for them

Donated $1,200 to Plymouth Canton Community Schools to produce a video about Geer School due to the fact the students can not visit there due to the pandemic

Picked up donated furniture and delivered it to Garfield School for a program that provides cognitively challenged young adults with refinishing skills

Assisted PB&J distribute clothes to homeless people in Ann Arbor

Planted shrubs and cleaned up the beds at Kiwanis Park in Plymouth, we also donated $600 to purchase the shrubs

Provided emergency funding for a child whose parents had medical issues so that she could remain in the Day Care Program at their home school

Donated $500 to become a Silver Sponsor again for the SJ5K run which is organized by PCCS students

Donated $4,000 to Friends of the Rouge to become a sponsor of three rain gardens and also provided members to plant on two different occasions at the PARC facility

Assisted Kids Coalition Against Hunger as they moved their warehouse operation to another location

Provided 45 hours of supervision at the West Middle School site for the United Way food drive to benefit Salvation Army

Donated $500 to New Hope Center for Grief Support to provide scholarships for children in their summer camp

Provided 39 hours of service making sandwiches for the Salvation Army canteen truck

Provided hot dogs, chips, soft drinks and cookies for the Plymouth City Commission meeting at Kiwanis Park

Painted a building under the stands at the PARC football field

Produced a sticker to be given to parents to attach to their child’s car seat with emergency contact information in the event of an accident

Conducted our annual Pancake Breakfast to benefit the Plymouth Kiwanis Foundation

Provided drivers to escort senior citizens up to the All Seasons pavilion at Twp. Park to participate in the Council on Aging’s picnic

Donated $3,375 to Motor Eagles to help purchase a specialized wheelchair so  that their

physically challenged players can participate in Power Soccer

Total of funds distributed – $17,025

Volunteer hours (valued at $25/hour)- over 500 volunteer hours. Valued at $28,900.

Collected over $18,000 during Salvation army bellringing.

Supported the annual Pancake Breakfast that raised in excess of $7,000 for the Plymouth Kiwanis Foundation.
